Notre Dame, Texas A&M highlight 2019 UGA schedule

A first-ever visit by Notre Dame, and the first visit by Texas A&M in decades will highlight Georgia’s 2019 home football schedule.

The Southeastern Conference released the schedule on Tuesday.

Notre Dame will visit Athens for the first time.

The matchup will come 2 seasons after the Bulldogs defeated the Irish in South Bend in a nationally televised game that sparked their run to the SEC Championship, a Rose Bowl title and an appearance in the College Football Championship game.

The Aggies will make their first appearance between the hedges since 1980. In that game, freshman running back Herschel Walker led Georgia to victory in their home opener in a season that ended in Georgia’s last national championship.

The Bulldogs have seven home games on the 2019 schedule which also includes SEC contests with South Carolina, Kentucky, and Missouri along with non-conference teams Murray State and Arkansas State.

The schedule also includes two open dates on Sept. 28 and Oct. 26. The Bulldogs will travel to Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Auburn, and Georgia Tech along with the annual game against Florida in Jacksonville.
