ATLANTA, Ga. - Ole Miss football player Robert Nkemdiche is facing drug charges after falling from a 4th floor window of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Buckhead Saturday.
According to a report from Atlanta Police, Nkemdiche suffered multiple cuts and abrasions from the fall, however, he told police he "did not know how he ended up on the ground." The report also said no one was in the room when Nkemdiche fell.
"It appears that the victim broke the window and then walked approximately 15 feet and climbed over a wall and fell approximately 15 feet," the police report said. First responders transported Nkemdiche to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
Investigators went back to the room that Nkemdiche fell from and found seven rolled marijuana cigarettes in plain sight on the table next to the window. Police said they were rolled in "Cigarillo Blunt papers."
"The room was in complete disarray," investigators said.
Nkemdiche has been charged with possession of marijuana.
"We are still learning about the matter, but obviously Robert's wellbeing is our greatest concern," said Ole Miss Head Coach Hugh Freeze in a statement Sunday afternoon. Nkemdiche attended Grayson High School in Gwinnett County. He is expected to declare for the 2016 NFL Draft.
