Senior night and possible champion implications as two AAAAA Region 3 teams battle in the Game of the Week. Southern Crescent Stadium in Fayetteville was flooded with Wildcats and Raiders as Whitewater hosted Riverdale.

Whitewater's Stone Kasten brought his team down field in the first quarter. A pass to Jamal Jenkins led to a field goal.

But Riverdale came right back. Jalen Hughes breaks it and his feed did not fail him. An 80-yard touchdown putting the Raiders up 7-3.

Whitewater's Isaiah Montgomery had a big night as well. He slipped, he stayed up, he stayed out front, and beat everyone to the goal line allowing the Wildcats to take the lead 10-7.

Wildcats Coach Bryan Holley was looking like a young Urban Meyer on the sideline.

Stone Kasten hooked up with Isaiah Montgomery, this one covered 42-yards and put Whitewater in a 17-7 lead at the half.

Riverdale came out of the locker rooms slinging in the second half. Joseph Cambridge hits his 6'6" sophomore Jaelyn Lay making it a 17-14 game.

Kasten threw a beautiful pass on a scrabble to Number 34 Dalton Goodman who was open in the end zone. Whitewater opens up a 24-14 lead.

The Wildcats go on to win the game of the week 38-21.

"It was a lot tougher than we expected. Riverdale’s a good football team, they fought, they fought hard, kids hung in there, our kids, hung in there, they didn't quit. They just kept on fight, and fighting, and fighting. I'm telling you these guys are great. I love them. Hey, next week, next week," said Coach Holley.

"I just got them all in line first, man. They, they, we go through practice prepared to win. I mean tonight we just came home with the dub [W]," said Whitewater quarterback Isaiah Montgomery.

The Wildcats win sets up a three way tie for secnd place in the AAAAA Region 3. Whitewater and Riverdale now share a 3-1 regional record with Starr's Mill. The next couple of weeks will be pivotal if anyone wants to try to topple powerhouse Griffin who stands at 5-1.

The Wildcats go on to play Fayette County and McIntosh to round out there season. The Raiders will try to break their tie with Starr's Mill next week and then finishes their season against Griffin.
