Freeman, Markakis named All-Star starters

The Atlanta Braves will have several representatives at the MLB All-Star Game. Sunday night the league announced the All-Star game rosters, including two Braves who will be starters in the "Mid-Summer Classic."

Freddie Freeman will start for the National League team at first base, while outfielder Nick Markakis is a starter in his first ever All-Star Game appearance.

Additionally, pitcher Mike Foltynewicz and second baseman Ozzie Albies were each named to their first All-Star teams as reserves.

Markakis, a Woodstock High School alum, was voted into his first All-Star game in his 13th MLB season. Freeman is making his third All-Star game, and first since 2014.
