Bulldogs clinch spot in SEC Championship Game

The Georgia Bulldogs football team is heading back to the SEC Championship Game for the first time since 2012. Georgia's 24-10 win over South Carolina on Saturday combined with the University of Kentucky's loss to Ole Miss clinched the SEC East for the Bulldogs.

The SEC Championship Game is set for December 2nd in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It will be the first Southeastern Conference title game in the new building.

The Bulldogs last won the SEC Championship Game in 2005. They lost in back-to-back title games in 2011 and 2012.

Georgia was ranked first in the initial College Football Playoff rankings released earlier this week. The top four teams in the final CFP rankings, released after the conference championship games are played, will advance to the College Football Playoff.
