Atlanta Public School Special Olympics
Hundreds of Atlanta Public School students hit the ground running Wednesday during the annual Special Olympics. The track and field games were held at the Lakewood Stadium. The student athletes took part in a series of events including 25-to-200 meter dashes and standing long jumps. APS Superintendent Dr. Meria Carstarphen also joined the competition by running the last leg of the torch run. This year's event boasted the largest attended on record.
