Police are searching for two “persons of interests” in a shooting at a Motel 6 in Jonesboro.

Clayton County police released surveillance images Friday of two women seen entering and leaving a motel room, where a 59-year-old man had been shot.

On December 14, officers found the man shot inside a room at the motel on Southside Commercial Parkway around 6:15 a.m. The man was reportedly semi-conscious and unable to speak. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed that two females were seen entering the victim’s motel room two hours prior to when the victim called the hotel staff to report he had been shot. At the same time, police say, a motel employee observed the same two women leaving the motel in a hurried manner.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Clayton County Police Department at 770-477-3513.
