Police: Woman shot, robbed picking up medicine outside CVS

A woman was shot during a robbery at a West End pharmacy.

Police said around 2 a.m. Friday morning, the victim pulled into the parking lot of the CVS in the 800 block of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard. She went  inside to buy some medicine.

While the victim was inside the store, a black car pulled along side her vehicle. Police said when the woman exited the store an armed passenger in the back seat of the black car demanded her purse, which she surrendered.

The suspect then asked her to lift her clothes, to see if she had anything on her, according to detectives. The woman refused and ran in the back of her car. That's when police said the black car drove away firing three shots as it exited the parking lot.

One of the bullets blew out the rear window of the victim's car. Another one hit her in the back of the neck.

The woman was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. She is expected t o survive.  We're told that she's lucky the bullet didn't leave her paralyzed.

The gunmen were wearing masks, which has made it harder for police to get a good description of who they are looking for.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Atlanta Police.
