Woman killed when struck in chest with crossbow, husband arrested

A Northeast Philadelphia woman is dead after she was shot with a crossbow, according to police.

Around 9:45 p.m. Sunday night, police converged on the 3100 block of Willits Road in Northeast Philadelphia. There they found 42-year-old Pamela Nightlinger dead. Police say she was shot with a crossbow. 

"The bolt from the crossbow penetrated her chest through the chest into the couch and was embedded in the wall," said Philadelphia Police Department Captain Anthony Ginaldi.

Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit Captain James Clark says 40-year-old Paul Kuzan was arrested and charged with Nightlinger's murder The couple was married a little more than a week ago.

"He just said they were having a fight an argument. He was fed up got his weapon of choice and unfortunately shot and killed her," said Captain Clark.

Christina Humphrey says she owns two daycare centers across the street from Kuzan's home. He seemed fine until a couple of weeks ago, according to the woman. She shared surveillance video of what she says shows Kuzan running along the strip mall naked allegedly threatening people along the way.

Neighbors tell FOX 29 off camera that last night,  Kuzan was running around naked too, as his wife was fighting for her life.  Witnesses say Kuzan was yelling "She's the devil" and mentioned ISIS.

Longtime friend of  Kuzan Frank Trout says he saw the couple yesterday. He says the man has had off and on  issues and some recent issues in his life but he doesn't understand how it escalated to murder.

"They just got married she seemed so happy. They seemed happy; can't figure out what happened when they went home,' said friend Frank Trout.
