A prayer vigil was held Friday night in Covington for one of three victims of a triple murder case in nearby Henry County.

Family and friends of 29-year-old Keith Gibson, one of the victims who lived in Covington, said they are seeking justice for all the families involved.

“I mean, I don't understand,” said Lisa Gibson, the mother of Gibson.

Ms. Gibson spoke to the crowd gathered at Covington Square at a prayer vigil for her son.

He was one of four people shot early Thursday morning at a home on Moccasin Gap Road in the southern end of Henry County.

Gibson and Mathew Hicks, 18, of McDonough and Sophia Bullard, 20, of Thomaston, were pronounced dead at the scene. Another 20-year-old woman clings to life at Grady Hospital.

Gibson's mother is unclear of what happened.

“All I know is he went to a bond fire, that’s all I know,” said Ms. Gibson. “And didn't come back.”

The two alleged shooters, Mathew Baker Junior and Jacob Cole Kosky, made court appearances Friday, both facing three counts of murder and four counts of aggravated assault.

Also in court was Brooke Knight, who along with Jacob Williams and Kayla Head, was charged with obstruction of justice.

Police have indicated they continue to search for anyone who else who may have been involved.

Keith Gibson's wife urged law enforcement to not let up.

“Keep looking, keep digging because someone else is out there too,” said Alexandria Gibson.

She said Keith Gibson and her had recently separated. She described him as a quiet country boy who loved to fish.

Gibson said he was a good dad to their two children, a 3-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy.

Their grandmother said the boy has been told of his father's death.

“Being seven, all he knows is his daddy is his daddy got hurt and he is in heaven,” said Lisa Gibson.

Keith Gibson's grandfather led the vigil in prayer, asking for guidance, peace and patience.

His mother, with tears in her eyes, acknowledged the families of the other victims, who she does not know.

“My heart goes out to all the families and I know what you're going through. Maybe one day down the road we can all meet,” said Ms. Gibson.
