U-Haul truck goes airborne, crashes in east Atlanta neighborhood

Police are investigating after a U-Haul truck went airborne before crashing inside an east Atlanta neighborhood.

The incident happened Tuesday around 6 a.m. at Walthall and Hardee Streets.

Pat Woowong captured home surveillance camera footage the incident that ended after a police chase.

"I thought it was an explosion or something," Woowong said. "...It was like something from ‘The Dukes of Hazzard.’"

Atlanta Police told FOX 5 they helped work the wreck scene but the case is being handled by DeKalb County Police. That agency hasn't responded yet to FOX 5's request for details by Wednesday morning. However, people living near the scene say officers told them a man was arrested after crashing the stolen vehicle.

Crews repaired a fence that was mangled following the incident. No one was hurt and no other property was damaged during the incident.
