Atlanta TV reporter Tyisha Fernandes appears in court for DUI charges

Tyisha Fernandes, a reporter for WSB-TV, Channel 2 Action News, pleaded guilty to traffic charges during a court appearance Wednesday morning, following her arrest on DUI charges.

Police stopped Fernandes on Piedmont Road in Atlanta last November. That traffic stop led to her arrest on charges of DUI and speeding.

The DUI charge was dropped, and Fernandes pleaded guilty to charges of reckless driving and speeding. She was fined $1,000 and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.

According to the police report, Fernandes first told the officer she was coming from a homecoming party, then later said she was coming from WSB, before finally admitting to coming from a nightclub.
