Trooper chase driver with child in car

ATLANTA - A man with a young child inside in a Mercedes led Georgia State Patrol troopers on a brief chase Monday night.

Troopers said they were attempting to pull over the driver of a CLK Mercedes on Interstate 20 for an expired tag when the driver took off. Troopers chased the vehicle to Hammond and Lee streets. That is when the driver took off running.

Troopers were able to catch and arrest the man.

Authorities said the owner of the sports car was in the vehicle as well and she was also arrested for having an outstanding warrant.

There were a third adult and young child inside the car. No one was hurt.
