Thelma Foster and her grandson, Keyshawn, were in an upstairs bedroom when the tree fell, hitting the front of their home on Shamrock Drive. Luckily no one was hurt, but the impact did knock down a number of items in the room.

Fire fighters who arrived to check on the home discovered some damage to the attic area. The tree took out the main power line to the house, so Georgia Power killed the service.  With no lights, Foster and Keyshawn were forced to spend the night with relatives.

Foster said the boy was so scared by what happened that he didn't want to go back into the home.
