Tow truck hit by train while trying to move car off tracks

A train collided with a tow truck in Gwinnett County after the tow truck was trying to move a stuck car off of the tracks, according to Gwinnett County Officials.

The car got stuck on the tracks, and alerts were sent out to trains to get them to stop on the tracks, according to officials. The tow truck arrived at the scene and attempted to move the car.

In the process of moving the car, the train came through and hit the truck, according to officials. The driver of the truck was not badly injured but was "banged up," according to officials.

The collision occurred in the area of Buford Highway NE and Jones Mill Road in Doraville around 9:40 p.m.

According to authorities, Norfolk Southern Railroad owns the train involved in the collision.
