Three Atlanta veterans were honored for their service in a very unique way this week. They received new cars just in time for Veterans Day.

The insurance company Progressive has teamed up with several charitable organizations to donate cars to vets in at least 63 major U.S. cities.

Thursday’s giveaways took place at the Decatur, Norcross, and Marietta Progressive Service Centers.

Progressive officials said more than 100 veterans and their families received keys through this effort.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, about 40 percent of veterans live in rural areas without access to public transportation.
