Three arrested in Atlanta pedestrian robberies

Police in Atlanta have arrested three suspects they say are responsible for three armed pedestrian robberies on Tuesday.

Brandon Anderson, 25, Emory Breynekia Hunter, 20, and Kareasha Washington, 20, were taken into custody Wednesday morning after officers got word of a vehicle matching the description of the one used in Tuesday’s robberies. Officers responded to Hightower Road near Center Street, where they observed a vehicle speeding toward James Jackson. As officers attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle fled, eventually crashing into a large tree in south Fulton County.

Anderson reportedly leapt from the sunroof of the moving vehicle and fled. The driver was slumped over and semi-unconscious, officials said. Another passenger, seemingly unharmed by the wreck, was in the back seat.

Both Hunter and Washington were removed from the vehicle and arrested. Anderson, who fled the scene, was later taken into custody.

The getaway vehicle, described as a red Kia sedan, was found to be stolen out of Cobb County.

A firearm was retrieved from the vehicle.

Anderson and Washington are charged with armed robbery and felony possession of a firearm.

Hunter faces charges of armed robbery and felony possession of a firearm. She also has an outstanding warrant in Fulton County.
