The Henry County Police Department is on the hunt for a bold crook with a unique getaway car. Officers say a man is driving a U-Haul truck while stealing equipment and other items from neighborhoods in Ellenwood and Locust Grove.

Martina Moore said she had nearly $1,000 worth of lawn equipment stolen from her yard, and the entire theft is caught on camera.

"The fact that most of my neighbors are home," said Moore. "There are kids in the neighborhood playing, so he was very bold in coming up into my driveway."

Surveillance video shows a man walking up to her doorbell camera, ringing the bell and waiting to see if anyone was home. When no one answered, he turned the U-Haul truck around in the driveway.

"He actually turned around in my driveway, backed the U-Haul up, lifted the U-Haul door up, and you can see him putting the items in," said Moore. "When he drove off, the door lifted up and you could see all the other items in the truck."

Moore said she's been contacted by neighbors on social media saying they've seen the same U-Haul driving thief in their areas as well.

"A gentleman did inbox me on Facebook and said this same guy was taking packages off someone's porch in Locust Grove, so this is a pattern," Moore said. "This is probably just his daily job going around taking people's items that they work hard for."

Moore said she hopes getting the thief's face out to the public will help police get him off the streets.
