Teenage girl tells deputies two men followed her in Spalding County

- The Spalding County Sheriff's Office is on the hunt for two men who deputies said followed a teenage girl as she drove through the county last Friday.

Investigators released sketches of the men Thursday in hopes someone would recognize them. The teen first noticed the men along Hamil Road. Deputies said the driver followed her, got out, and tried to get into her car while they were stopped at a red light at the intersection of West McIntosh Road and North Expressway.

She sped away, but again had to stop at a red light, this time at the entrance of Griffin Crossroads Shopping Center. Deputies said that is when one of the men showed her a black handgun.

The teen eventually pulled into a church where several people were and the men drove off.

Deputies describe the driver of the truck as a white male in his 20s, tall and slender, dark brown hair and beard. The passenger in the truck is described by deputies as a white male in his 20s, strawberry colored hair, heavy set. They were driving a small white truck, possibly a Ford Ranger, with a black bumpers and chrome wheels, possibly a black tool box in the bed.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 770-467-4282.
