Teen hit twice: The search for a hit-and-run driver

A South Fulton teen struck by two cars in Union City a week before Christmas is back home after spending weeks in the hospital. One of the drivers left the scene the night of the accident. The victim's parents are turning to the public for help in finding the hit-and-run driver.

The 19-year-old was headed home after work the night of Dec. 17, crossing the street from 7 Star Wings Restaurant to the QuikTrip along a stretch of Jonesboro Road in Union City when she was struck by two cars. The first driver hit James and kept going. The second driver stopped and remained on scene.

Medics transported James to Grady Memorial Hospital. She suffered a broken leg, fractured hip, fractured ribs, collapsed lungs, and other injuries.

D’Jahnay’s parents say detectives reviewed surveillance video from an area business but were unable to make out the make out the make and model of the suspect vehicle.

James now recovering at home has progressed from a walker to crutches and started physical therapy. She has a long road to recovery ahead.
