A teenager is in the Dekalb County Jail charged with murder. Police said 18-year-old Kristopher Brown shot and killed 20-year-old Jalen Williams outside a gas station Monday night.

It was just after 8 p.m., police got a call of shots fired at the Shell station on Wesley Chapel Road. When investigators arrived, they found three people shot. Two were rushed to the hospital. The body of Jalen Williams was near the gas pumps. Police said he had been shot in the head.

"He was a strong young man trying to find his way in life," said Williams' aunt, Keturah Kwindima.

Kwindima said she was very close to her nephew, and the pain of losing him in such a violent way is unbearable.

Wednesday police charged 18-year-old Kristopher Brown with Williams' murder as well as two counts of aggravated assault. He's being held in the Dekalb County Jail without bond.

Kwindima said the arrest only answers one of her many questions about that night. She said she can't help but wonder what could have gone so horribly wrong, that it cost a young man his life.

"When someone kills a person, you don't just kill that person, that person isn't the only one that dies. you're killing a family," said Kwindima.
