A group of Atlanta’s faith leaders received recognition Wednesday for helping the homeless.

The Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless hosted an appreciation luncheon for all faith leaders who have supported the city's homeless population.

The organization said more than 50 churches, synagogues, mosques, and civic associations have been involved over the past few decades. And that, because of their involvement, the task force is able to offer a wide array of services.

The task force also announced plans to open a new location that will include a kitchen, a cafeteria, and a clothing closet.
