COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - Everything is back to normal at a Coweta County middle school after a 14-year-old student brought a loaded gun to school this morning.
The male student brought a 9 mm gun to Lee Middle School in Sharpsburg. According to Coweta County school officials, a school resource officer learned the student had a gun sometime after 10:30 a.m.
The school was placed on a lockdown and search.
Colonel Jimmy Yarbrough of the Coweta County Sheriff's Office, tells FOX 5 the student is now in custody. There was no threat to anyone at the school.
The Coweta County Sheriff's Office is handling the ongoing investigation.
