A robber caught on surveillance is no "friendly neighborhood Spiderman."

DeKalb Police tell FOX 5 they are searching for a robber who donned a Spiderman mask and ambushed a manager at the ALDI grocery store off Flat Shoals Parkway.

"Right as he was opening the doors, he was confronted by a man wearing an ALDI jacket and Spiderman mask," said Detective D. Dennerline.

Investigators said the video shows the masked man force the manager at gunpoint into an office, then open two safes to steal cash and coins; he then ties up the manager's hands and feet with duct tape, steals the man's keys, then takes off.

The manager can be seen escaping his ties and calls for help. The victim told FOX 5 off-camera that he is alright, despite the ordeal.

Detectives are investigating why the robber was wearing an ALDI shirt. Dennerline tells FOX 5 police are investigating if the suspect could be a former employee, an associate of an employee from the same or different location, or possibly someone without ties to ALDI that somehow obtained a jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous and receive a reward up to $2,000.
