Police search for gunman after drive-by shooting at home of murdered rapper's family member

The cousin of a murdered rapper Bankroll Fresh is injured when gunmen open fire on a family member's Southwest Atlanta home.

Police say on Monday night around 11 p.m. someone fired 17 rounds from a high powered rifle into the house located in the 600 block of Smith Street. Those rounds went through the front window and frame of the house, hitting a 24-year-old woman in a bedroom. The victim was grazed in the shoulder and thigh. Paramedics treated her at the scene. Investigators say it's a miracle she was killed or seriously hurt.

Police tell FOX 5 the home was targeted by the gunmen. They call the crime reckless and dangerous. So far investigators have no suspect description.

The house belongs to the mother of Trenavious White, also known as Bankroll Fresh. He was gunned down in 2016 outside of a recording studio. No one has ever been charged in that killing. Police say it's way too early to know if Monday night's shooting had anything to do with Bankroll Fresh's murder.
