GEORGIA - The storm prediction center has upgraded parts of North Georgia to a slight risk, level 2, for severe thunderstorms Sunday afternoon.
This comes as scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to move across North Georgia, where multiple rounds of storms are expected to pound the region, causing flooding concerns.
Standing water is also a concern for the afternoon, but after 1 p.m., strong to severe storms are capable of producing damaging winds and large hail in south and east of Atlanta.
In Habersham County, Saturday's storms caused a large tree topple onto a car, and the damage potential will likely continue Sunday as the stormy weather is expected to continue in the area.
After sunset, all of our area will see the storms fade, but the clouds and showers will linger through Monday afternoon.
