Volunteers pack 'hero boxes' for deployed service members

Volunteers packed about 2,000 "hero boxes" for U.S. service members deployed overseas.

The Home Depot partnered with the organization Hero Box to put these care packages together in time for the holidays.

The Hero Box founder said that when his brother was deployed, he learned many soldiers weren’t receiving any support from home, so that's when he said he decided to do something about that.

This is the sixth year the two groups have partnered together for this mission. To learn more about the organization and how you can help, visit herobox.org.

Last year, about 2,000 "welcome home" packages were stuffed for Georgia soldiers returning home from deployment.
