Serial rapist pleads guilty to cold case attacks from 1986

A serial rapist pleads guilty to cold case attacks in Marietta dating back to 1986.

Antonio Brooks, 48, was sentenced by a Cobb County judge Friday to life in prison.

The first crime involved a woman attacked and raped by a man with a knife at her apartment.

Two days later, a woman reported being raped and severally beaten about a block away from the first crime.

Brooks was arrested in 1988 after raping a woman at an apartment on Powers Ferry Place.

He was convicted and sentenced, but never tied to those first two crimes.

Now 27 years later, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation got a match on DNA from Brooks and charged him with the 1986 rape cases.
