ATLANTA - Several dogs are in need of forever homes after being rescued from Puerto Rico and flown to Atlanta during Hurricane Maria.
The Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) told FOX 5 News about nine pups from Puerto Rico are currently up for adoption, including an adorable 3-month-old mixed breed dog named Veronica.
Tuesday, AHS shared a sweet photo of Veronica, announcing the Puerto Rico "kids" were officially available.
AHS said more than a dozen other dogs rescued from Puerto Rico will soon be added to the adoption list.

Maria roared across the island on Sept. 20 as a Category 4 storm, killing more than 50 people and knocking out electricity to the whole island. More than a month later, only 30 percent of customers have power, though Gov. Ricardo Rossello has pledged to get that to 95 percent by Dec. 31. Roughly 70 percent of the communication network has been restored, and 70 percent of the water service is back.
