Robber leaves identification on store counter

MACON, Ga. (AP) — Police say a man robbed the Flowers Discount Bakery in Macon, but he didn't get very far.

A departing customer told The Macon Telegraph the robber was stupid, he left his wallet and identification on the counter.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Cpl. Linda Howard identified the suspect as 49-year-old Willie Frank Hall of Macon.

Howard says Hall turned himself in Tuesday afternoon.

She says Hall took items to the end of the line at the register, as if he were going to buy them.

As he approached the clerk, she said he had his wallet out and started snatching money out of the register.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Hall.
