Recount ordered for Georgia House District 37 race

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Election officials in Cobb County have ordered a recount in the Georgia House District 37 race.

Less than 173 votes separate Republican incumbent Sam Teasley and Democratic candidate Mary Francis Williams.

As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, Williams had 11,928 votes, which accounts for 50.37 percent of the vote with Teasley trailing with 11,755 votes or 49.63 percent.

The recount is scheduled to take place Friday, according to officials.
