The Georgia Department of Transportation will begin a resurfacing project on Interstate 85 Thursday night. Crews will re-pave nearly seven miles of interstate from the downtown Connector to Clairmont Road.

The project is expected to last until February 28, 2018, with the work happening at night. There are no

daytime closures slated for the stretch during weekdays.

Crews will continue the repairs to the collapsed bridge near Piedmont Road. They plan to complete that construction by June 15 of this year.
