An Air Force veteran is concerned a group of armed robbers will return to her home after she said they ambushed her in her own driveway early Sunday morning.

"I was terrified. I mean, even with me being a veteran and going and fighting and going to a war zone, I mean, that is scary," said the victim, who did not want to be identified.

The woman said she noticed an SUV following her as she drove home from a night out, but the driver turned down another street in her neighborhood. It was not until she backed into her driveway that the SUV returned, blocked her in and three armed men got out of the vehicle, she recalled.

"I just remember they had bandanas around their face," she said. "When I [saw] them jump out the car with the rifles, I was pretty much like put my head down because my first instinct was that they were going to start shooting."

According to a Fulton County Police report, the men used the butts of their guns to break out the windows of the woman's car and struck her in the face. They then forced her and a passenger out of the sedan and onto the ground.

"They kept yelling, 'Give it up! Give it up! Give it up!' But I mean, I really didn't have anything to give up but my purse. So I just, pretty much just pushed the purse off," the victim said.

The woman said she thought the men were going to steal her car, but instead they ran off with just her handbag. Now that the men have her driver's license and other identifying documents, she fears they may return. The robbers even took her children's Social Security cards, which were inside her purse.

The robbers are described as young, in their late teens or early 20s. Two of the men, according to the police report, had dreadlocks. The driver was described as a young man with a low haircut who wore a do-rag.

The victim said she hopes the police are able to find the men and arrest them soon.

"[Be]cause then, at least, we wouldn't feel so threatened that they're going to come back," she said.

Anyone with information about the crime should contact Fulton County Police Department.
