Police: Wanted Georgia felon hides behind wall
COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - The Coweta County Sheriff's Office says U.S. Marshals found a wanted felon boarded up inside a wall in the master bedroom closet of a Hogansville home.
"I know they secured a search warrant and found him inside a false wall," Major Mark Fenninger said.
Coweta County Sheriff's Office Major Mark Fenninger told FOX 5, 39-year-old Frank Dailey Jr. was the man inside the wall.
But Dailey's arrest started weeks earlier.
"Dailey was speeding down the interstate," Fenninger said. " When they tried to pull him over, Dailey took off running. Because it's a large rural area, he got away."
Inside Dailey's jeep, authorities said they found drugs.
"He had enough meth that he was going to distribute it," Fenninger said.
Nearly three weeks later, U.S. Marshals visited a home located at 24 Judy Court in Hogansville.
Forty-year-old Melissa Cook came to the door and allegedly told police, Dailey wasn't there.
"They had a search warrant so they went in and found him inside a wall," Fenninger said.
Cook is currently in the Heard County jail facing obstruction charges. Dailey is behind bars in Coweta County facing a slew of charges.
