Atlanta Police are searching for two men they said opened fire inside Big Brother Grocery late Wednesday night.

"This was an extremely violent and dangerous incident," Atlanta Police Captain Andrew Senzer said.

According to police, officers responded to an attempted robbery call at the convenience store on Lee Street around 11 p.m.

"When officers arrived, the store clerk and video surveillance confirmed two black males who appeared to be in their 20s started firing shots at the clerk," Captain Senzer said.

Police said the clerk wasn't hurt thanks to the bulletproof glass he was standing behind.

"The clerk is lucky that they weren't in the open," Captain Senzer said.

Police said the two men tried to open the door to access the clerk and the money, but they were unsuccessful.

"So they started firing shots again and even as they were running out the door," Captain Senzer said.

Police are reviewing the surveillance video in hopes of getting a better description of the two men responsible.

"All we know is they were wearing white t-shirts and had white shirts covering their faces," Captain Senzer said. "We are hoping someone with information will come forward and we will continue to go through the surveillance video to get more information on the suspects out to the public."
