Police: Teen girls beat, carjack traveler at Atlanta's airport

An airport traveler said she was attacked in one of the parking lots Monday night.

That violence at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport made this story unusual. But there is more. Atlanta Police said two girls, including one who is just 13, were involved.

The traveler explained she returned to her vehicle in the north economy lot. Once inside, a girl knocked on the window asking for help. In an instant, the pause from the motorist allowed the two girls to pounce.

Police said they punched the woman in the face, grabbed her hair, and dragged her out of the car.

The girls drove off following quickly behind another vehicle through the parking lot gate arm.

Investigators were able to quickly spot the car, a 2008 Audi. They said the 13-year-old was inside. She was turned over to juvenile authorities.
