Atlanta Police said there is a serial armed robber on the streets and they want him caught.

Investigators said the armed robber has hit three businesses in less than three weeks and took off with more than $27,000.

“He approaches early in the morning, comes in and completely takes over the store,” said Sgt. Warren Pickard with the Atlanta Police Department.

On August 10, police said the crook struck at the Lakewood Food Mart on McDonough Boulevard in southeast Atlanta.

"He check both pockets and took my wallet and cell phone,” said Mohammad Mortugad, one of the armed robber’s victims.

Police said in surveillance video you can see the crook force Mortugad to the ground.

Investigators said the second crime took place on August 16 at a gas station on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard.

In surveillance video officers said the armed robber forces the employee to the ground as he grabs the cash over him.

Police said the most recent robbery took place Monday morning at a gas station on Metropolitan Parkway.

“It's heart wrenching,” said Moe Mohsn who is a co-worker of the latest victim. “We are doing a service for the community and something like that happens out of nowhere, it's a tragedy.”

Investigators said the crime escalated in this more recent case because the robber hit the employee on the head with his gun.

“Even though the store attendant was complying. He struck the attendant in the head and also the eye causing serious injuries,” said Sgt. Pickard.

Atlanta Police are asking for the public to help identify the man seen in surveillance video. If you have any information, investigators ask you to call the Atlanta Police Department or Crime Stoppers 404.577.TIPS.
