Deputies from Banks County Sheriff's Office want to track down the woman who robbed the Northeast Georgia Bank on Highway 441 near Industrial Park Drive.

Around 10:30 a.m. Monday, the suspect, who is described as a 5'4" tall white female with blonde hair in her early to mid-30s, robbed the bank while wearing a black bandana.

She walked up to the teller and passed a note indicating it was a bank robbery and when she opened her purse the teller could see there was a pistol inside," said Sgt. Casey Brouwer.

The suspect walked out of the back door of the bank and ran through the woods towards the Days Inn on Highway 411. Sheriff Carlton Speed told FOX 5's Portia Bruner the woman was seen driving from the motel in a 2006 or 2007 blue-grey Dodge Caravan with a New York license plate on the front bumper.

The suspect was wearing a white t-shirt and brown shorts. "Witnesses said, as she walked out of the bank, she removed her bandana which is when they realized she had blonde hair," said Brouwer.

Investigators say it's been more than a year since anyone has robbed the bank in Banks County - even longer since a woman has committed such a bold crime. So bold, in fact, she didn't even bother to cover her face during the robbery.

"This is a big deal. This woman should be considered armed and dangerous and anyone who does something like this is definitely somebody we need to try to get off the streets immediately," Brouwer said.
