Authorities have released a sketch of a man, they said posed as an Uber driver and sexually assaulted a woman he picked up from an Atlanta bar last week.

On August 13, Atlanta police said a woman called for an Uber after leaving Park Bench Pub in the 34 block on Irby Avenue. Authorities believe the man followed other vehicles for hire and staged in an area where Buckhead bar patrons would come out for transportation.

The young woman did not realize the man was not legitimate and got into the front seat. She told police, after a few minutes, the fake driver grabbed her, slapped her and forced himself on her in the Chastain park neighborhood. He then pushed her out of the vehicle at the Galloway School after she scratched him, according to police.

The woman was transported to a local hospital and was later released.

A small silver sedan was captured on a camera. Atlanta police released that video showing the car heading down West Wieuca Road.

An Uber spokesperson told FOX 5 the man was not a driver for their company.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Atlanta Police or Atlanta Crime Stoppers.
