Police: Officer injured in southwest Atlanta crash

ATLANTA - An officer was injured in an accident in southwest Atlanta Monday evening.

It happened just after 7:20 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Lee and White streets. Atlanta Police said four vehicles, including a police cruiser, were involved in the crash.

Police said the officer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition, complaining of neck and back pain.

Two other adults and a child in the vehicle police said struck the cruiser was also transported for evaluation, according to police, with similar complaints.

Three others declined treatment at the scene.

The names of those involved have not yet been released.

No word on any charges or citations in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
