ATLANTA - A man was hospitalized Monday morning after a shooting in a Buckhead wooded area.
The gunfire rang out before 6 a.m. Monday. Responding officers found a man who had been shot, possibly multiple times. Paramedics took the man to Grady Memorial Hospital. He was alive when he left the scene, but there's been no update on his condition.
Witnesses told police before the shooting took place they heard two men arguing in the woods, which are located off of Buford Highway in between Sidney Marcus Boulevard and Lenox Road. No description of the gunman has been released.
According to police, homeless people are known to stay in these woods. People living in an apartment complex next door told FOX 5 they've complained to APD about folks living in the woods, but have been unsuccessful in getting them removed.
Officers closed off all but one northbound lane of Buford Highway for almost two hours while they investigated the shooting. All lanes are back open.
