ATHENS-CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities have investigated an alleged planned shooting at a high school in Athens-Clarke County.
Investigators say they were alerted to a threat towards Cedar Shoals High School this morning.
Athens-Clarke County police said that they have met with a male student, who they say attends his school.
Police also met with his parents and school administrators.
According to the Clarke County School District, the student expressed "deep remorse" for his statements and said there was no plan to hurt anyone.
"We are pleased that the situation was resolved quickly and did not disturb instruction or affect the safety of our students and school," officials said.
