Police investigating home invasion in South Fulton

An investigation into an armed home invasion has led police to seize multiple weapons and items related to drug distribution in South Fulton.

At around 5 on Tuesday morning, officers with the City of South Fulton responded to a call about an armed home invasion at a home on the 400 block of Espana Street.

The caller told police that two people had broken into the home and fired shots. No one appears to have been injured, and officers say the suspects fled before they arrived.

When detectives arrived on the scene, however, they say they smelled a strong aroma of "suspected raw marijuana" from inside the home.

After a search warrant was obtained, officers seized multiple items that they say were consistent with marijuana distribution and weapons.

Officials have not yet identified any suspects arrested in the seizures, but they did say charges are pending.
