GILMER COUNTY, Ga. - The Gilmer County Sheriff's Office has investigated a threat to an area high school that was posted on social media.
In a Facebook post shared by the Sheriff's Office, Gilmer County Schools said that it has been determined at this time that there is "no credible risk to students and staff of Gilmer High School."
The student, whose name has not been released, has been identified Friday night and the case has come to a resolution, the post said.
"It is imperative for students and everyone to know that credible or not, threats of this type against our schools cannot be tolerated or accepted," the school system wrote.
The school thanked parents and staff members for "having faith in our local law enforcement and school district to fully investigate."
