DECATUR, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A gunfight in a DeKalb County apartment complex parking lot left a man dead and another in critical condition. Police said it might have all been caused by a love triangle.
Police said the bullets started to fly on Quail Run after 11:30 p.m. Sunday night. Arriving officers found a man dead, having been shot multiple times. At about that time, another call came in from the Quick Trip on Panola Road, which is less than two miles away, about a person being shot.
Officers went there and located the second man. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital in critical condition.
Detectives think the men shot each other after getting in a dispute, possibly about a woman. The deceased man, who was in his late 30's, is described as the woman's current boyfriend. The injured man, who is in his early 40's, as her former boyfriend.
The shootout took place in the parking lot of the woman's apartment complex. Her red vehicle could be seen near where her current boyfriend's body was found. Police said the woman is cooperating with the investigation.
No one else was hurt during the hail of gunfire.
