Fulton County Police have released surveillance video of a brutal attack on a shopper, after investigators said two robbers held up, pistol-whipped and shot at a man loading groceries into his trunk.

Police said the ordeal happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. on the Dec. 13 outside the Kroger on Old National Highway, as the 47-year-old man walked out of Kroger with groceries and walked to his car.

Police said the two robbers cornered him, demanded his keys, wallet, and threatened the victim at gunpoint to get in the car and drive them, as the man refused and even struggled with one robber as they took his wallet. Police said as the victim walked away, they fired at a shot at him.

The shot hit a window at the Kroger.

Investigators released the blurry surveillance video, in hopes that someone would know of the ordeal and report the identities of the robbers to police.

"[We] try not to be out on Old National after dark," said one mother, as plenty of shoppers said they have heard of similar crimes happening in the area.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
