Police: Gang problem plagues south Fulton County subdivision

- A south Fulton County subdivision is living in fear after police said four houses have been shot up in one week and one of them was firebombed.

Police said no one was hurt during the three separate shootings that started last Tuesday, November 7. Police suspect they are gang-related and likely connected.

"I heard 75 to 80 gunshots Friday, maybe it went on a minute, I can't really remember. We are elderly people and we are feeling very scared to be in our house this long and have to live in fear," one homeowner told us.

A lieutenant with the police department said someone shot up a house on Cedar Hurst Trail. Police said more than 130 shots were fired there. Then, Tuesday police said a house on Woodward Road was firebombed and shot up with 30 shell casings found at the scene. Police said evidence of a Molotov cocktail was found in the house.

"No one at the home called the police. We initially thought it was just a fire. It was The Fulton County Fire Department who found the shell casings." Lt. Roger Peace revealed.

Lt. Peace confirmed there is a gang problem in Pointer Ridge subdivision, which is located off Flat Shoals Road.

Police said they have asked for help from ATF with all the ballistics evidence.
