Woman arrested for shooting at firefighters

A member of the Atlanta City council wants to see armed guards hired to protect the city's firehouses.

The effort is being pushed by Kwanza Hall following the Wednesday morning gunfire outside a Southside station. At shift change, firefighters encountered a pair of thieves who, according to police, had just broken into three employee vehicles in the lot.

As they were fleeing, one of them fired a shot. Investigators say a woman who was with the gunman was stopped. Her name is Briana Partridge.

She has been charged with aggravated assault and other counts stemming from the incident. Councilman Hall says he will draft legislation to fund extra security for the 30 neighborhood firehouses.
