Police are questioning a man after they said he shot and killed another man early Tuesday morning in southwest Atlanta.

Just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to a home located in the 2700 block of Third Avenue.  Responding officers found a man, who appears to be in his 20's or 30's, dead. Another man was also there. The survivor told officers that an argument led to gunfire, leaving the man dead.

Detectives are trying to figure out what triggered the dispute but said they are looking into the possibility that this all started as a gun purchase that went bad. Police did find a weapon inside the home.

Police said the survivor is cooperating with the investigation. And because investigators think that survivor and the man who died were the only ones there when the shooting happened, they are hoping that he can help them figure out exactly what happened.
