An Atlanta police officer arrested at the scene of a drug raid in College Park over the weekend resigned Wednesday.

The Atlanta Police Department said Officer Iris Rowe choose to resign over being dismissed from employment. A police spokesperson released the following statement Wednesday:

“The Atlanta Police Department contacted Officer Iris Rowe and notified her that she would be dismissed from employment with the Department at an emergency hearing with Chief Shields on Thursday. Officer Rowe chose instead to tender her resignation.”

The department said Officer Rowe was suspended immediately when top brass was made aware of her College Park arrest.

Rowe and two men, Jeremy Laye and Tony Robinson Jr., were arrested on Monday during a drug sting at an apartment complex on Godby Road.

Investigators said they found a large amount of marijuana and pills worth more than $20,000.

Atlanta Police said Rowe joined the department in 2016 and then was assigned to the Zone 3 Mobile Patrol.
